Spanning American history from 1865 to the present, this class evaluates the events and changes in American culture in light of the founding ideas. Liberty and civil freedoms are themes discussed in light of present trends. Special emphasis on Reconstruction, the Depression, the New Deal and the growth of government are analyzed.
